Yesterday, I started a minimum wage job. My husband, Luis, and I are juggling multiple tasks to bring our dreams, destiny, and mission to reality. Our dream is to own property, to build a place where our children can call home, feel safe, play outside, and grow without fear. A place where we can build a village. Our destiny is to break the generational chains of poverty and plant the roots of generational wealth. Our mission is to create a lasting, sustainable legacy through The Network Green.

Many of you know parts of my story, but it’s time to share more about Luis Figueroa, my husband, soulmate, and partner in everything. Born in Boston and raised in Brockton by young parents, Luis was introduced to a challenging environment at a young age. Instead of following a detrimental path, he chose a different route. On his 18th birthday, he enlisted to serve his country, striving to become a better man.

I’ve been with Luis since we were 16, navigating homelessness together and figuring out how to survive. I’ve witnessed firsthand the struggles and lack of support he faced in the military. Despite his dedication and efforts to provide for his family and rise above his circumstances, he was often met with degradation instead of promotion. The military, rather than uplifting him, diminished his confidence, leaving scars that took years to heal.

Luis’s story is one of resilience. Despite the lack of support from both family and the military, he never gave up. He continued to meet the demands placed upon him, even when they seemed insurmountable. His journey is a testament to his unwavering strength and determination.
